    btw - for those of you with dark monitors such as myself, if you use UltraEdit and change all the 1's to F's, then the picture shows up a lot better.

    ok, what am i missing? anyone have any teensy hint that i could get? don't give it away, but just something to point me in the right direction. i've tried the following words (and then some), but none of them work:<br><br>fence, grass, ground, woodenfence, ironfence, sky, sun, sidewalk, house, flower, window, door, weeds, garden, spring, summer, and quite a few more.<br><br>?????

    i stared at it and enhanced it and stared some more and eventually something soo obvious popped out and now i always see it as that when i look at it, and i know that its definitely what im looking for.. but the problem is... i only know 2 words for it! somebody give me a hint..the first letter like to get my mind going...i checked a thesaurus but no luck.<br> -antiplazman

    its an english word everyone know. its realy hidden in the picture. so maybe its encrypted or a little bit changed but if you have the right idea you have no problem.

    so i have it down to 4 or 5 key words and i have probably guessed around 100 (actually counting earlier attempts its probably much more than that........) possible answers. i think i have probably missed something here but i think i can get my wordlist sorted out to a few thousand at most. now..... does it make any difference if i enter these via script or via hand ? technically i am going to try them all until i get a right answer but this is also brute forcing so.... what am i to do ?

    I must say, this thread has made me laugh..<br>It seems like every regular style of thinking or pattern recognition is just thrown over board as soon as ascii art is combined with binary.. Dont suddenly start playing foolish guessing games. Recognize patterns. See what could contain a hidden message. Solve the puzzle. (This 3-step program is not copyrighted, feel free to use it anywhere <img alt="\&quot;;D\&quot;" src="%5C"><br><br>-Kwazy Webbit<br><br>PS. Why not try to see it as 'just binary' and solve it that way.. And if that doesnt work.. Try seeing it as 'just a picture' and solving it that way. Thats how I did it anyway.     hoho, these messages just get better <img alt="\&quot;:)\&quot;" src="%5C"> I think I will throw all ideas away and start again!<br><br>At first I did the binary thing and even ran programs to look at every possible string taken in every possible direction with every possible gap and try to cross reference the whole lot with a dictionary file but other posts seem to say that is a waste of time.... then i see the sailing ship/tugboat+smoke/buoys/pier picture and think its something to describe that but people say that is a waste of time. Then I think ah I know exactly where the possible message could be hidden.... (which still may be the case so i wont say it) but it doesnt make any sense no matter which angle or which way i try to decode it. Then I think perhaps its something inbetween the low level and the overall picture level, but now you say its not!<br><br>I think I will take a rest and then revisit this one later......

    i think i posted this somewhere else, too..but maybe not... if youre at this forum maybe youre having trouble...but dont go looking for hints because it takes away from the satisfaction when you do solve it - unless you are a first-timer in which case you deserve a little push. after solving steg7 i am much more confident about most of these challs, and it felt that much greater not to have needed any hints. but one safe hint that is universal: most of these challenges have surprisingly simple solutions that make you want to kick yourself for not seeing the first second, so just try different methods of thinking. - antiplazman

    Amen to that. But when you feel frustrated and bored and cross-eyed and you're about to puke from having spent way too much time racking your neural cells on a challenge, I find that an obscure, subtle hint does wonders for your motivation. <img alt="\&quot;;)\&quot;" src="%5C"> Well, in this particular challenge I think that any hint, subtle as it may be, could spoil the fun. Just could. Don't know for sure, though.<br><br>Different people have different ways of applying logic to the problemas they face, and it shows. Stegano 7 and PHP 7 were almost immediate for me; something just clicked. But talking with others I find that most people have a hard time on them. On the other hand, I found Stegano 3 frightfully difficult, due to my being stuck in some particular way of logical thinking, but people find it rather easy. So I'm not afraid to ask for hints if I find something too frustrating *and* I feel that I have become trapped in my own logical cage, the bars of which I'm not able to see. A new idea can open new paths, if it's calibrated not to spoil anything. But that may be difficult. Well, I can say that I'm having a hell of a time with this challenge. And others do too, since this is by far the longest thread in the whole forum... *lol*<br><br>*Wyvern*

    ok, for those who can't stand to look at the 1's and 0's, (i don't think this is giving away too much, if so, if blacksheep you want to delete this post, go ahead), open file in notepad, use find/replace function. replace 0's w/spaces and 1's w/(alt+2,9,1 [[]ie. hold alt and type 2-9-1 (just the numbers)[]]) this just helps look at the picture better. (like the one guy above said about replacing 1's with F's)

    It is a very easy challenge. The problem is that you're looking for something that seems to have no importance. Look for patterns and thing that seem to change every once in a while. What should be there? What looks like it was only put there to throw you off? Questions like that helped me on this stupidly easy challenge. I was really disappointed when I solved it. All that work for nothing. Just look closer.<br>

    ok, ive read through this thread after i tried to solve this stage and must say, that no new hints are given. i tried this thing which someone mentioned before with binary view, but i get a 4 letter thing which is defenetly not english. what the hell am i making wrong ?
